I know what you’re thinking. You’re so vain, Liz.
Ha, thanks… I know how it looks and sounds, Little PRETTY Liz… but I promise you, there is a good story behind it.
A long time ago when I was young and fun, I used to work for bands and record labels. I had some pretty awesome experiences. From touring on the road across the United States to sleeping on an air mattress of a random stranger’s living room floor that I met on Myspace’s ads section in Los Angeles for a summer. (She turned out to be an awesome chick! But that probably wouldn’t fly today!)
One of the bands I worked for was called Pepper’s Ghost. And their hit song, was called “You’re in my heart” and the chorus went like this, “You’re in my heart, little pretty. You’re in my heart! You’re in my heart and you’re so pretty. Little prrreeeettttyyyyy!”.
The song wasn’t written about me, but people who knew the band, the song, and me, ended up dubbing me “Little Pretty Liz” over time… and well, the name sort of stuck for a few years. I ended up using that as my handle on aim (remember that!?) and gmail. And as the years went by, even though the nickname ceased to exist, it remained my handle, to this day.
And so is the history behind the username/handle.
Here is the song if you’d like to check it out.
This is a pic from the XM Radio headquarters when they did the UPOP Channel Show. I am wearing one of their signature “Little Pretty” merch shirts I sold for them on tour at venues. This is probably why the nickname started because I lived in these t-shirts… ha!
