After doing some more research and digging around, I’ve decided to track the air quality this year as everyone heads back to school maskless.
Last year I monitored the sick log and would pull the kids from school based on how that looked. But this year is going to be a bit trickier so I need to up my game.
So, today I just purchased two Aranet4 air quality monitors. One for each kids’ backpack.
After doing some research, I learned that with proper ventilation can reduce your risk of catching covid19. The virus lives in the air for 1-2 hours. And doing something as simple as opening a window can ventilate the room in as little as 10 minutes (up to 10 hours depending on air flow). Without ventilation aerosols remain in the air for up to 12 hours.
For the monitor, today I just picked up two Aranet4s. It hooks up to an app and alert you when to act! Aranet4 warns you when the air quality has deteriorated, and you should improve air exchange.
You see, CO² concentration can be used as an air quality indicator and can be monitored with sensors such as Aranet4!
So, get stealthy parents. And even go to the local library and print out this cool golem from Minecraft cover for the monitor to attach to your kids’ backpack!
